A pregnant wife is not the easiest thing to understand in this world. In fact it may be completely the opposite: it can sometimes be the hardest thing to understand and support.
This doesn’t change for Christmas but you want to make sure you both have a great time during the holidays. So here are some great advises on how to give your pregnant wife the best emotional support for Christmas.
Be Prepared For Mood Swings
Your wife may act like crazy at times. It is her hormones, her body kicking in pain or just the fact that she can’t eat or drink everything on the Christmas table.
Small things may seem life devastating, she may get very sad and start crying for seemingly no reason.
If this happens you should be the rock upon which the waves crash and it stays strong. Let her know you are the protector and that she can lean on you for support.
Talk to her, sweet words can always calm an upset woman down, even if she is not pregnant.
So when celebrating on Christmas watch her closely in case she needs something from you and don’t leave her alone for too long.
If Your Wife Stays Sober So Should You
She obviously can’t have alcohol drinks so with everyone around drinking this must feel awkward. So be her partner in soberness on Christmas!
I mean it really would not be ok if you even start feeling dizzy: you need to drive and be ready if she has some complications. You can’t do this if you are drunk, half drunk or feeling dizzy.
Just find other fun things to do besides using alcohol on Christmas. Like taking photos or dancing and singing.
If you both don’t drink on parties then you can skip this advice.
Be Ready To Leave Early
Your pregnant wife may get tired very early in the evening and you may feel that the party is just starting. Don’t start persuading her to stay. She is tired for a reason and the more rest she gets during pregnancy the healthier the baby will be.
So have in mind that this can happen and don’t make a problem put of it. The baby is far more important than some Christmas party. If you are celebrating at home just let her retreat and check up on her from time to time until the guests leave.
Watch The Conversation And The Behavior Around Your Pregnant Wife
People will want to touch her belly. This is particularly annoying for pregnant women. I have watched a video when a pregnant women simply walk the street or go shopping and people want to touch her belly. It is crazy that even strange people do this so when celebrating Christmas with other people this will surely happen.
And it is cute thing – in the beginning. But as the night passes it may get frustrating and if people drink even dangerous. So watch the people and their behaviors around your pregnant wife and be ready to intervene if necessary.
Also all the talk about her pregnancy may get too intimate or even insulting if you celebrate with relatives (even unwillingly). Your protection will mean so much to your pregnant wife.
Don’t Forget The Christmas Gifts!
Your wife may get gifts for the baby this Christmas and although this is great, she may feel neglected at some point. So make sure she receives a Christmas pregnancy gift from you.
It will soften the situation and this way both her and the baby will have received equal attention.
Finally don’t forget to tell her that you love her and the baby more than anything in the world. It’s a whole new year and a whole new life starting for you both.
